Cell phone emergency tricks and tips
August 25, 2006 on 11:31 am | In Nokia, Features, News, Interesting |Blogcritics.org has a short list of interesting things that cell phones are (apparently) capable of doing.
There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies. Your mobile phone can actually be a lifesaver or an emergency tool for survival.
In no particular order…
- Dialing 112 will contact emergency services in ANY country around the world.
- Unlock your car with your keys over the phone (er…what? Seriously??)
- Release extra battery power (at the expense of call quality)
- IMEI code can be used to disable a stolen phone (Nokia handsets only apparently)
Full details available at Blogcritics.org. I’m highly skeptical of point 2 (I mean, c’mon…) - but if you’ve tried it and know it to work (or otherwise!) post a comment here and let us know!
